Enrolment Information

We offer an alternative for young people who may not have experienced success and/or felt they fitted into their previous school/s.

We offer individualised learning, wellbeing support and the opportunity to build the qualities and the skills needed to thrive in the world beyond the school.

Enrolment Enquiry

Enrolment at Inala Flexible School starts with the completion of an Enrolment Enquiry form, submitted via our website by parents or legal guardian. You are also very welcome to visit our school office during business hours to complete a hard copy of this form. Enquiries can also be submitted as a referral from school principals, guidance officers or other support agencies. Education Qld staff may experience access issues to our online forms due to an IT firewall – please contact our school office and we can send you a PDF version via email.

Authorisation for Confidential Information

Once the enquiry form is submitted, an automatic email will be sent to the person completing the form – this will contain a PDF Authorisation to Release Information form. This form needs to be completed and signed by both the legal guardian and the young person, and returned to us as soon as possible. This allows us to contact previous schools and any other relevant agencies to gather information about the young person. This form, along with a letter with all relevant information that we require, will be emailed to the young person’s school. As per the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006, schools have 10 days to fulfill this request. We cannot proceed with enrolment until we have received this form.

Enrolment Interview

Once we have gathered as much information as possible, our Leadership Team will review and consider the young persons’ enquiry. If a suitable placement is available, the young person will be invited to an interview with our Leadership Team. Parents and/or legal guardians must attend the interview with the young person – care workers, case managers and other support people are welcome to attend also. At this interview, our Leadership Team may request more information or require further consultation regarding the enrolment.

Enrolment Application

When the enrolment interview is completed and our Leadership Team offer placement to the young person, an Enrolment Application form will be sent via email to the legal guardian to complete and sign. The young person is also required to sign the enrolment application. Identification documents such as birth certificate and Medicare card will be required to be attached to this form. Enrolment cannot commence until we receive the completed and signed enrolment application and a copy of the young person’s birth certificate.

Induction and Commencement

At the enrolment interview, our Leadership Team may discuss a plan for induction of the young person. This induction plan may involve the young person commencing with half day attendance and will be reviewed after the first day, to ensure the young person is ready to transition to their class group.
